He will also mix in a harder curve that is sharper with average depth that is more of a power offering. He will drop down and throw fastballs from a 3/4 release.

7th: FB (87-90), SL (80-83) - 2 SL

6) Buddy Carlyle: 20 pitches. (FB, Cut, CU, SL, CB). 1 strike swinging. Fastball.

  • Carlyle is a 6-3, 210 pound righty. The 31 year old has a medium frame that appears to be maxed out, though he may be able to add a little more muscle to his lower half. He came from an over the top release with some real herky jerky mechanics. His fastball has some run in on righties and a little sink. His change has some fade from lefties and some sink. His curve is a sharp 12-6 with average depth. His cutter has a little cut, but doesn't do much. He is a 4-A guy.

7th: FB (88-91), Cut (83-85), CU (76), CB (71) - FB

7) Renyel Pinto: 15 pitches. (FB, SL, CU). 2 strikes swinging. 2 Sliders.

  • Pinto came from a high 3/4 release and showed a straight 4-seam fastball that flashes some run in on lefties, a 11-5 slider with solid bite and a change with some fade from righties and good sink.

8th: FB (89-90), SL (81-82), CU (83) - 2 SL

8) Luis Valdez: 14 pitches. (FB, SL, CU). 0 strikes swinging.

  • Valdez is a 6-2, 205 pound righty. The 25 year old has a medium frame that can add a little more muscle to the lower half. He comes from a high 3/4 release with a little bit of a slinging arm action. His fastball has some run in on righties. His change has some fade from lefties and a little sink that he will throw to righties. His slider is a 2-7 pitch with solid bite. I think he can be solid middle reliever, but not a back of the bullpen type.

8th: FB (90-94), CU (87-88), SL (84)

9) Matt Lindstrom: 12 pitches. (FB, SL, Split)

  • Lindstrom came from a high 3/4 release and showed a pretty straight 4-seam fastball that flashes some run in on righties, a split with some dive and a sharp 2-7 slider with above average bite.

9th: FB (95-97), Split (86-88), SL (81-84) - 2 FB
