Only 5 days into August, there has a been a lot of player movement:

DFA'd: Mike Gosling, Chris Shelton, Winston Abreu, Sidney Ponson, Robinson Cancel, Chris Woodward, Gil Velazquez, Jose Veras, Ryan Freel, Cody Ransom, John Bannister

• Reaction: No real surprises. Ponson should have been gone a long time ago. Veras is the only surprising one, in that the Indians have let him go when they are going nowhere and I do see some flashes from him.
