Chart Observations: 8/7 FLA @ PHI

1) Ricky Nolasco: 101 pitches. 11 strikes swinging. 3 Fastballs (3rd, 2 in 6th), 5 Sliders (2nd, 3rd, 3 in 6th), Curveball (4th), 2 Splitters (6th, 7th)
  • Nolasco came from a high 3/4 release with a fastball with good run in on righties and some sink, a 12-6 curve with above average depth, a 2-7 slider with good bite and a splitter with good fade from lefties with a little diving action (I think it is more of a split-change then a splitter). He will throw 3-1 sliders.

2) Joe Blanton: 112 pitches. 10 strikes swinging. 3 Fastballs (2nd, 2 in 7th), 4 Sliders (1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th), 3 Changeups (2nd, 3rd, 4th)

  • Blanton came from an over the top release and showed a fastball with a little run in on righties with some sink, a 12-6 curve with above average depth, a 2-7 slider with good bite and a change with good fade from lefties with good sink. He will throw 2-0 sliders, 2-1 changeups and will throw his change to righties.

  • Park came from a 3/4 release and showed a 2-7 slider with good bite and a fastball with above average run in on righties.

4) Renyel Pinto: 23 pitches. 2 strikes swinging. Fastball, Changeup.

  • Pinto came from a high 3/4 release and showed a fastball with good sink and some late run in on lefties and a change with some fade from righties with sink. He will throw 3-2 changeups and will throw the pitch to lefties as an out pitch.

5) Ryan Madson: 16 pitches. 4 strikes swinging. 4 Changeups (3 in 8th, 9th)

  • Madson came from an over the top release and showed a straight 4-seam fastball and a change with above average fade form lefties with above average sink.

6) Scott Eyre: 16 pitches. 2 strikes swinging. Fastball, Slider.

  • Eyre came from a high 3/4 release and showed a 11-5 slider with good bite and a fastball with some run in on lefties.

7) Tyler Walker: 4 pitches. 1 strike swinging. Slider.

  • Walker came from an over the top release and showed a fastball with a little run in on righties and a little sink and a 2-7 slider with good bite.

8) Leo Nunez: 5 pitches. 0 strikes swinging.

  • Nunez came from a 3/4 release and showed a fastball with good run in on righties and some sink and a change with above average fade from lefties with good late sink that he will throw to righties.
