Chart Observations: 8/18 STL @ LAD

1) Mitch Boggs: 83 pitches. 6 strikes swinging. Fastball (1st, 3rd), 4 Sliders (2 in 2nd, 2 in 5th)
  • Boggs is a 6-4, 215 pound righty. The 25 year old has a big frame that can add a little more muscle. He came from a 3/4 release with a fast windup that is real scrunched up until his breaks. He straightens his arm on the backtake fairly hard as well. His fastball has above average run in on righties and some sink. His change has some fade from lefties and a little sink. His curve is a 1-7 pitch with solid depth. His slider is a 2-7 pitch with good bite that can move like a cutter at times. Solid pitcher, but likely no better then a # 4 or # 5 starter.
