He has a little bit of a long arm action and a little bit of a cocking action, but his mechanics are fairly clean. Shows the ball to the hitter for a long time and lacks deception in his delivery. His slider is 1-7 with good late bite. His change has some fade from lefties and some sink and flashes above average late sink. Can get too cute with his fastball at times and looks like he can struggle to trust his stuff. He looks like a pretty good bet to be a solid middle reliever in the big leagues for awhile.

He can battle his command at times due to the movement of his sinker and can leave some pitches over the middle of the plate. 4-A reliever who may be able to put it together for 1 season as a sinkerballer out of the pen.

His curve is a sharp 1-7 with slightly below average depth that serves as his out pitch. Looks like a 4-A pitcher to me as a reliever.

• Campillo is a 6-1, 225 pound righty. The 31 year old has a medium frame that appears able to add a touch more muscle, but looks a little pudge and looks like he needs to work on toning his body rather then adding to it. He came from an over the top release that appears to put a little more pressure on his shoulder, but fairly clean. His fastball has a little run in on righties and a touch of sink. His slider is a 1-7 pitch with good bite, though it can float to the plate at times. His curve is 12-6 with above average depth. His change has some late fade from lefties and some late sink and is probably his best off-speed offering. Is a f your timing type pitcher who will throw any pitch in any count. Just doesn't have enough on his fastball to be a viable major league pitcher.

He came from a high 3/4 release, working predominately out of the stretch, with fairly clean mechanics, though he does have a little bit of a cocking action in his arm, causing his arm action to be long. His fastball has a little run in on lefties, but is pretty straight. His slider is a 11-5 offering with solid bite. His change has a touch of sink from righties and a little sink, but is a pretty straight offering. Still has a big arm and still has command issues. Will always get chances because of his pure stuff, but I wouldn't bet on him turning it around.

His fastball has a little run in on righties, but doesn't have the movement typically associated with his arm angle. His split has a little dive, but doesn't do too much. His curve is a 2-7 offering with average depth that could be a strikeout pitch if located correctly. 4-A pitcher that just doesn't have enough stuff to be a consistent member of the bullpen.

• Hinckley is a 6-3, 205 pound lefty. The 26 year old has a medium frame that is still long and lanky and can get up to at least 215 if he so desires. He came from an over the top release with a rock back and drive type of mechanics. Doesn't look like the most coordinated mechanics in the world and may prove tough to repeat consistently. His curve is a 11-5 with slightly above average depth. His fastball has some run in on lefties. Looks like he can battle his command at times, which isn't a surprise given his mechanics. LOOGY candidate, but his struggles with his command will prevent him from ever reaching his upside.

His curve is a slow 12-6 with slightly above average depth that can look like a fastball out of his hand, causing hitters to be well out in front that can also flash some sharpness. His split has some dive that he will throw 2-0. His cutter has some cut, but can straighten out at times. Solid # 4 or # 5 starter, but not worth the cash they paid for him.

Another lefty whose upside is a # 4 or # 5 starter and who needs to continue to refine his stuff.

His cutter has solid cutting action and that is the pitch we call a slider. # 4 or # 5 starter is his upside and he needs to continue to refine his off-speed offerings, as he has a tendency to leave them up in the zone.

He shows a little pull power, but is never going to hit more then 5 home runs in a season. Likely a back-up catcher along the lines of Greg Myers.

• Ian Desmond is a 6-2, 210 pound shortstop. The 24 year old has a medium frame that is still pretty long and lanky. He has a straight up, open stance with a slight bat tap. His trigger has a little swaying action to it, but it is a stride to square himself up and a cocking of the bat. His back shoulder appears to drop a little in the trigger, causing him to be a little more flyball prone. He has a nice compact swing that shows gap to gap ability and also projects to have above average power for a SS. He has above average bat speed and may have above average power right now, as he hit a 430 foot bomb in this game. Defensively, his primary release point appears to be a sidearm release, which can make throws sail on him from time to time. He has an average arm and quick hands and can turn the double play quickly with good feet around the bag. He has above average speed and trusts it, causing him to make some aggressive mistakes. He has always been highly regarded as a toolsy guy and those tools have come out, though he is still a little raw defensively and offensively. I think he is a Troy Tulowitzki type package offensively with a little less average and should be right around an average defensive shortstop.

1) Homer Bailey: 95 pitches. 6 strikes swinging. 4 on Fastballs (2nd, 4th, 2 in 5th), 2 Sliders (3rd, 5th)

• Bailey is a 23 year old who stands 6-3, 210. The righty has a medium frame that can get up to 220. He comes from an over the top release with a little Ubaldo Jimenez like arm action where he likes to straighten the arm on the backtake, but fairly quiet delivery. He throws 2 different types of fastballs, a 4-seam that is fairly straight and a 2-seam that can flash above average run in on righties with some sink, but it can flatten out. His curve is a big breaking 12-6 with good depth. His split has some dive, but can look more like a straight change and it served as his out pitch to lefties early until he realized it literally wasn't moving... His slider is a hard, sharp 2-7 with solid bite. Bailey will never reach the expectations he has had, but it isn't out of the realm of possibility for him to be a middle of the rotation guy. He threw all 3 of his off-speed pitches between 5 and 10 % of the time and will always rely on his fastball, which he had good command of. I think he will be an above average # 3 starter in about 3 or 4 years.

Solid long-man, don't expect a whole lot more and he is pitching a little over his head right now.

His change is a straight change that looks like a fastball out of his hand. His curve is an 11-5 pitch with good depth and may be able to be a strike out pitch. 2nd lefty in a pen is his upside in my opinion and he shows solid velocity for a lefty.

• John Mayberry Jr. is a 6-6, 230 pound man beast. The 25 year old has a big frame that can add a little more muscle. He has a slightly closed and crouched stance with a bat tap. His trigger is a stride and a cocking of the bat. He has good bat speed, but his swing can get a little long. He is a slightly above average runner, though he will probably be average as he continues to add muscle. He has above average raw power and a plus arm from the outfield. He has all the tools to be an everyday player, but he is not yet ready. He needs some more seasoning at AAA to improve his pitch recognition and keep a consistent swing.

• Tim Redding is a 31 year old right hander who stands 5-11, 230. He has a small frame that is maxed out. He comes from a high 3/4, almost over the top release. His fastball shows some fade and sink, though it can flatten out and he mixes in a straight 4-seam on occasion. His change moves just like his fastball, just a little bit slower. He throws a hard curve as his preferred strikeout pitch and its a 12-6 pitch with late bite and he will also throw a bigger breaking curveball with good depth for strikes. His slider is a 1-7 offering that can be slurvy or sharp and it flashes late bite. His command is above average and he is your typical # 5 starter.

• Cole Hamels is a 6-3, 190 pound lefty. The 25 year old has a medium to big frame that has room to add a lot more muscle. He comes from an over the top release that generates a good downhill plane for his pitches. His fastball has some natural sink and run, though it will also flash some fade at times. His change looks like a fastball out of his hand and has excellent sink and some run (though he threw it way too much in this game). His curveball is an 11-5 offering with good depth. He will throw all his pitches to any hitter and any count. Hamels has plus command, but was working in the middle of the plate a little too often. I think Hamels is a # 2 right now (cue the debate again) and I want to see him utilize his above average curve more before I call him a legitimate ace.

His command continues to be above average and he is a # 4 right now with the ability to develop into a 3 if he can tighten his slider.
